About Kerrie

Starting in 1994, God has led me on 50 or so mission trips to 12 countries on 4 continents - It’s been a crazy God sized adventure!  Most recently, I was serving as the Director of Health for Every Village, living in Uganda and ministering to the people of South Sudan for two years.  Africa definitely got under my skin and will always hold a place in my heart.  A month after I left Africa I headed down under to Australia, the place of my birth, to care for my elderly parents, and when they both passed away in 2015, I felt God calling me back to Houston. I had no idea what he had planned for me, but He has been, as always, working behind the scenes and preparing the way. 

For many years now I’ve been passionate about the plight of refugees, with my first, up and close exposure being in the Kakuma Refugee Camp in northern Kenya, 2003. In October of 2016, I was able to visit  Mae La Refugee Camp on the Thai/Burmese border.  Both of these experiences touched my heart deeply.  Upon returning to Houston I discovered that I didn’t need to travel outside the country to spread the Good News to the nations, because God has moved them right here among us. Houston is the most culturally diverse city in the USA and has the highest intake of refugees nation wide.  I’m excited to see what’s in store for this next chapter.
